Happily Unbridled Information and Resources for Horse Racing Fans Everywhere
  • About

Happily Unbridled is a website/blog devoted to horse racing in the US and around the world. This is a work-in-progress and my vision is to add descriptive pages about horse race tracks and occasionally about outstanding horses or events in the horse racing arena.

“Happily Unbridled” is actually the name of a race horse who is the daughter of one of my favorite race horses of all time, Unbridled. Unbridled won the 1990 Kentucky Derby and later that year, also won the Breeders’ Cup Classic. He also proved to be a great sire and his progeny are running, and winning, at races all over the country. Perhaps his most well-known son, Unbridled’s Song, is still siring runners and winners and may prove to be an even better sire than Unbridled himself.

Happilyunbridled.com is one of the Unbridled Traveler, Inc websites. I’m located just outside of Minneapolis/St Paul in Minnesota. I love horses of all types and all equestrian genres but this website is devoted to my passion for horse racing.

My personal life consists of a pesky 40-hour week JOB that I need to pay the bills, but I come home to two wonderful little dogs and a cat who welcome me home at night and keep me happy. My first pet was my cat, Pouncer, who lived at my daughter’s little farm and was determined to be a housecat. She followed my daughter and her family everywhere and was sure to get run over by a vehicle or get stepped on by one of her horses. So I took Pouncer in and she’s been with me for 8 years. I wasn’t looking for another pet but one day a little lost mini Dachshund found her way into my life and she adopted me … I named her Kismet as it was definitely fate that brought us together. She’s now the love of my life and I can’t even imagine my life without her. The last dog to come into my life is Mattie. She’s a Rat Terrier whose owner (a coworker) had decided she was tired of her and was going to put her in a shelter or give her away on Craig’s list. Mattie is about nine years old and, even though I had never met her, I couldn’t stand the thought of her being sent away to a shelter or to some random stranger. So I agreed to give her a home and she’s also brought much love into my life. She’s a very sweet dog and when she crawls into my lap, she breathes in such a manner that it sounds as if she’s purring, so she’s become The Dog That Purrs …
